There really isn't any backstory. I read in the character description that when he gets angry, oily black ichor pours from his mouth, eyes, and pawpads and I thought "I WANT TO DRAW THAT." He's standing in water only because I wanted to draw the ripples and oil colors. XD

But I'm sure any backstory you can come up with is cooler than the one I just told you! XD
