Mathais figurine by rah-bop Mathais figurine by rah-bop
A birthday gift for *kacfrog711, who spoils me, so I must do my best to spoil her back.

Her art muse, Mathais, probably about 1 ft tall (I forgot to measure. x_x), made of sculpey, painted with acrylics. All of his clothes except the pants were hand-sewn, and everything but the manacle is removable. ;3

I can't even remember the last time I used sculpey... maybe when I was 10? I forgot how soft it is. Now that I'm used to stuff like plaster and clay, I had trouble with judging the pressure in my hands and kept accidentally squishing him! (ono!) His hair used to be a tassel, which I massacred, flipped upside down, and stuck in his head. The manacle is made of aluminum and fine chain. I didn't use any references while sculpting him, though I probably should have. x_x

About the censor bar: this sculpture is actually rated G. I thought the shapeless blob contrasted too much with the rest of his sculpted self, so/and I felt like adding the bar. Let me have my fun! X3

wow this is amazing! you said you used a tassel for the hair. obviously you can't BAKE it with the tassel in it so how did it stay? or does it randomly pop out? XD This looks great though :)

It is actually just a tassel that I got at the fabric shop. I made his head hollow and once it was baked, I flipped the tassel upside-down and jammed it in his head. Instant hair.
