Another old one from 2005. I was taking a ceramics class and the assignment was to make a mask, so I made one that looks like a sockeye salmon because they are so delightfully hideous.
There are eyeholes over the gills, which are not very apparent once you put it on. The mask is really comfortable on your face, but too heavy to be very practical so it's mostly just for decoration. I have no idea how big this piece is and I don't have it with me to measure it. My mom currently has this thing. She keeps it on the kitchen table and uses it to bother the cat, terrify the houseguests, and hold the mail (it holds paper napkins during dinner. Who knew a gigantic fishhead would be such a nice centerpiece? I know it's certainly what I like to look at while I eat.)
Unfortunately there's a lot of detail that gets lost in these photos, which makes me sad. Modeling the fishhead is my friend and classmate who was oddly fond of this thing.
*lol* That's awesome. ^_^ I loved ceramics. You get to make the most wild stuff in those classes. Great job with the scales and glazing and everything! The teeth are especially nice.

This would be so much fun to wear to a masquerade! There should be more masquerades. They are sadly out of fashion at the moment.
I didn't realise you were such an incredible sculpter. I think it would be a lot of fun to have something like this to scare guests with and hold napkins.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Anyways, creepy but wonderfully detailed! I'm jealous of a centerpiece like that.

I refuse to mention an apophasis.

I love the fishhead- ugly is surprisingly tasteful eyecandy. The scale detail is really nice though, I can tell it must look better in real view.
